Coongratulations to GCS retired teacher Mich Curtin on the fantastic achievement of being the recipient of the Gerard Cunningham Memorial Award recently.
Mick recieved this award due to his outstanding contribution to the development of GAA in Co. Galway. We know at first hand in GCS how well deserved this award is. Mick has been and continues to be involved in nearly every school team in GCS, both boys and girls. He has a depth of knowledge of players and games that cannot be matched and we are very grateful to have his guidance. Congratulations Mick from all at GCS.

During the February midterm, we travelled to Northern Italy on our school ski trip. On the way to the Italian Alps in Lavarone, we stopped in Trento, which was really lovely to see.
We stayed in a lovely Alpine hotel just 1km from the slopes. We had four full days of skiing and picked it up much faster than we expected! By the end of the week, everyone had improved so much.
We were so lucky with the weather-blue skies and fresh mountain air every day. We made great memories, spent loads of time together and had so much fun. There was plenty of pasta and pizza (of course!) and lots of trips to the local Co-op.
We’re so grateful we got the chance to go. It’s a trip we’ll never forget.
