Course Outline

French is the most  popular  foreign language offered in Irish schools. 
There are four main components in the syllabus:

Speaking
Reading
Writing
Listening

Assessment

Students are assessed at Junior Cert level with a combination of listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression.

Students have the option of taking the Ordinary Level or Higher Level paper at Junior Cert Level.

In order to gain access to the National Universities of Ireland it is imperative that students have at least one foreign language.
