BEAUTY AND THE BEAST - REHEARSALS/FIND YOUR VOCAL RANGE


Well done to all who attended our first workshop today. The talent you have shown has exceeded all expectation.  For those of you who missed it we will have another workshop this coming thursday Aug 24th from 10am-1pm in rm207.

SHOW CHOIR


Well done to all who attended the call backs today.  Not only did we have great fun but we announced the select few people who will be taking part in the choir and it was a very difficult decision. Here is the final line up. 

Sopranos - Cora Shaughnessy and Ciana Comer

Altos - Eve Cassidy, Lisa Mannion and Stephanie Joyce

Tenor - Eoin Greally

Bass - Thomas Conneran and Conar Smyth

Assistant Choreographers - Siobhán and Kate Murphy

We are lucky to be able to offer such a wide range of extracurricular activities here at Glenamaddy Community School and it is important that students take advantage of these opportunities.

ALL-IRELAND SCHOOLS TALENT SEARCH


Congratulations to Eoin Greally who will be taking part in the Connaught final of the All Ireland Schools Talent Search in Castlebar this Sunday evening.  And well do to Eve Cassidy, Megan Heneghan and Cora Shaughnessy who just got knocked out in the last round.  Please come and support Eoin and have your vote on Sunday.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES


Don't forget the Music groups have started up again for this year and new members are always welcome.  All music students should take part in at least one of these activities as it will greatly improve their practical exam results.  Rehearsals are as follows;

Ensemble on Monday

Trad group on Tuesday

Choir on Wednesday

 

CU FACTOR GALWAY FINAL


Congratulations to Cora Shaughnessy, Eve Cassidy and Megan Heneghan who after winning the regional final went through to represent Glenamaddy credit union in the Galway final on Sunday the 13th of May 2012. The competition was tough but the girls did us very proud and performed ‘the prayer’ by Celine Dion and Andrea Botticelli very well indeed.

THE PLAQUE WHICH THEY RECEIVED IS ON DISPLAY IN THE CABINET IN THE GP AREA.

 

 

CU FACTOR


Congrats to Eve Cassidy, Megan Heneghan and Cora Shaughnessy who won the Glenamaddy CU Factor at the weekend.  They will now go on to represent Glenamaddy Credit Union in the Galway Heats in Leisureland in May. 

 

Music For a Summer's Evening


It's almost time again for our summer gala concert.  This is a great chance for all you Musicians out there to showcase your talent.  Anyone who is interested in taking part in the concert please contact Ms. Heverin before the 4th of May. 

 

 

Music Practicals


Junior Certificate Music Practicals will take place this coming Monday from 9am 

Leaving Certificate Music Practicals will take place on Wednesday the 25th of April from 9:00 am. 

Have your voices ready!

 

 

Open Night for Incoming First Years. 


The first year open night was a great sucess with the First year music class, Trad music group and Individual students performing for the incoming first years and their parents.  A great night was had by all and hopefully these incoming students will be performing here this time next year.
