On the 16th May, our  TY  students attended an awards ceremony in DCU. They entered a competition where they made a book entitled "It Felt Like Yesterday". They interviewed older members of their families about their lives growing up and included photos of them in their younger years and more recent times. As part of this project, they also made weekly visits to Glenamaddy Daycare centre. There were 4 award categories, GCS won the top award (Platinum). Robin Morgan accepted the award from Minister Roderic O Gorman on behalf of the group. Well done everyone!

The lead-up to the end-of-year exams is a stressful time for students. As part of our Wellbeing Program here at Glenamaddy Community School,  all Junior Cycle students will view an online production called "HOW ARE YOU?" in Wellbeing/SPHE class this week. Its aim is to promote the Resilience and Wellbeing of Young People.

Well done to Michaela Gillooly who won the best project award at the recent Scifest competition in TUS Athlone on the 24th of April. Her project titled “Own your cycle, Own your game” will now go forward to compete in the National taking place in November in Dublin. We are very proud of Michaela’s achievements so far.

The TY's recently created some fabulous games and puzzles in their Woodcraft and Furniture class. They demonstrated them to a very interested First Year group.
