Nine of our Transition Year Students achieved their Bronze Gaisce Award after completing their Adventure Journey which included a 65km cycle and a 5km paddle around Lough Errit facilitated by their PAL and teacher, Ms. O’Flanagan. Rafaela, Kerri, Stacey, Tommy, Dean, Marc, Oriole, Davóg and Leon took to their bikes on Monday morning, 16th May and were involved in activities non stop until their return on Tuesday 17th. Thanks also to Mr Heverin, Mr. Lennon and Mr. Cassidy who shared parts of the journey. The weather was a mixed bag but didn’t put the students off jumping from the pier or taking part in an epic voyage around the lake. They embraced the karaoke challenge and their spirits were high as they set off on their bikes the next day for their return journey.
All arrived back safe and sound, albeit exhausted, but energised from such a great achievement. Congratulations to the participants involved. Click on the image below for more photos.
