Well done to all G.C.S. students who competed in the South Connacht Cross Country qualifiers in Bushfield, Loughrea on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Congratulations to Ruby McGuire(Minor), Alfie Dowling (Minor), Beth O’Mahony (Junior), Hazel McGuire, Jennifer Mahe and Nuala Kilmartin (Intermediate) and Linda Long (Senior), who qualified for the Connacht Finals in Loughrea on February 21. Click on the image below for more pictures from the day.

We will be having out annual Open/Enrolment Evening on Feb 22nd from 5-7pm. It is always a nice evening for incoming students and their families to view our facilities, meet the staff and ask questions.

On Thursday the 18th of January, five GCS students were among a group of students who were honoured by Medtronic for their achievements in either Engineering or Technology subjects in their Junior Cycle. All those awarded had achieved a Distinction in either subject. They were invited to attend an awards evening in Medtronic Parkmore to acknowledge their result. This is an amazing achievement and deserves recognition since only 3.8% of students achieved this grade in Engineering or Applied Technology in 2023. 
The following GCS students were presented with awards on the night; Enda Keane, Emily Trayers, Dylan Joyce, Ross Hegarty and Calvin Daly. Click on the image above for more pictures.
