On Saturday, March 9, three students, Alfie Dowling (First Year), Beth O’Mahony (Second Year) and Hazel McGuire (Second Year) competed in the All-Ireland Cross-Country Final in Tymon Park in Tallaght in Dublin. All three students displayed exceptional endurance and had strong races, featuring well up the field.
Beth said “I think I ran well and the experience and atmosphere is always nice at All-Irelands”, while Hazel said, “I was happy with my performance and pace and it was a great experience that I enjoyed very much”. Alfie, new to Post-Primary School Cross-Country, is showing wonderful talent and this is the start of a bright future in running for him. Congratulations to all three students!

Glenamaddy Community School PLC students were on a two-week Erasmus+ work placement programme in Malaga. This invaluable experience, in conjunction with their host company European Era, was made possible through the funding of the Erasmus+ Programme by the European Union. Their itinerary was brimming with cultural immersion and professional development opportunities.

On the 8th of February 2024, 5th Year students, Transition Year students and teachers set off on their skiing trip to Poland. The trip started with a guided cultural tour of the city of Krakow to see Wawel Royal Castle, the Vistula River and Stare Miasto Square. The journey continued onto the ski town of Szczyrk where they spent the next 5 days learning to ski and immersing themselves in Polish culture. Everyone learned the skill of skiing and had great fun doing so. Thanks to everybody involved in making this journey a once in a lifetime occasion.
