Our fantastic TY students are organising a Clothes Swap Shop as part of their Young SVP environmental awareness programme., this will take place on Tuesday 12th March during lunch break. In advance of this, we are asking students who would like to participate in this event to bring in unwanted clothes in good condition next Monday (4th) or Tuesday (5th) and drop them off at the library at lunchtime. Thank you.

On Thursday last, a group of students in second year took part in the O'Connor-Power debating competition in St.Jarlath's College, Tuam. Our students were arguing for the motion that 'The anti-vaxx movement poses a significant threat to general health'. Our speakers on the day were Ava Madden-Hussey and Beth O'Mahony, both of whom delivered excellent coherent arguments. We were delighted to be part of the winning side on the day. Participants: Leah Mills, Rachael Corbally, Maria Murphy, Ava Madden-Hussey, Beth O'Mahony, Mr. Heverin, Dylan Severs.

Well done to all G.C.S. students who competed in the South Connacht Cross Country qualifiers in Bushfield, Loughrea on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

Congratulations to Ruby McGuire(Minor), Alfie Dowling (Minor), Beth O’Mahony (Junior), Hazel McGuire, Jennifer Mahe and Nuala Kilmartin (Intermediate) and Linda Long (Senior), who qualified for the Connacht Finals in Loughrea on February 21. Click on the image below for more pictures from the day.
