Congratulations to Mya Grogan, who was awarded Transition Year Student of the Year for 2021. In a challenging year Mya's enthusiasm and positivity motivated students to make the most of the TY experience.

The newly built outdoor amphitheatre held the Awards ceremony for this year's Leaving Cert students. While the cermony was much reduced due to the Covid regulations, it was still good to honour our Students for their work over what has proven to be two very difficult years for them. The two main awards were Collegian of the Year and Student of the Year. These were awarded to Paul Coyne (Collegian of the Year) and Emma Maye (Student of the Year). Congratulations to them both and to all our Leaving Cert class of 2021. We wish them well in their exams and on into their future lives.

Picture below shows Paul and Emma with their Year head, Ms. O'Shea, Principal, Mr. Duignan and Vice Principal, Ms. Gildea.

Well done to the transition years students who organised a fundraiser for Pieta House. During the week leading up to the annual Darkness into Light walk all students during their PE and Games classes participated in a walk raising €790 for this great cause.

The Town Hall Theatre in Galway announced the names of the three young curators who will programme the venue's contribution to Lasata - a groundbreaking new national arts programme for young people by young people and our very own past pupil Lisa Mannion has been named as one of the three.

We want to wish her the very best of luck in this exciting venture.
