Our TY students took part in The Global Goals Challenge at Brigit’s Garden last week. They had to work together to overcome obstacles and complete hands-on tasks on the themes of local and global development.

Our TY students have been hard at work lately helping out on the art piece for the town enhancement programme under the guidance of artist Rosmarie Langtry.

Here are some photos from our maths quiz which was held to celebrate Maths Week in our school. Congrats go to Davog Kelly, Daniel Stephens, Rachel Mahon and Alanna Scappaticci from 1B for coming in first place. And congrats to our runners up, Jakub Kleczek, Ava Duffy, Paul Davis and James Davis from 1C and also Jessica Fleming, Chloe mannion, Ian Kearney and Luke Dolan  also from 1C.

Many thanks to all the generous students and their parent(s)/guardian(s) for supporting the Team Hope Shoebox Appeal 2018. A total of 48 boxes were collected this year. Thanks to our TY students for helping to promote our appeal. Our boxes will be on display at mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Glenamaddy this coming Saturday evening.

Congratulations to Luke Dolan and Harry Heffernan who competed in the junior section of the Poetry Aloud heats in Galway recently. Luke made it through to the semifinals in Dublin next month. Well done Luke!

Addams Family Poster

All 1st and 2nd year students are invited to participate in the Teamhope Shoebox appeal. We will be giving out leaflets in 1st & 2nd year R.E classes over the coming week. There will some extra leaflets left in the school office so that students from other year groups are also encouraged to contribute. Looking forward to a great response again this year!! Thanks in advance to all the parents/ guardians for their ongoing support and generosity.

Since Junior Cycle Reform commenced in 2014, new subject specifications are being introduced in all schools in Ireland on a phased basis. Current Third Years are studying English, Science and Business Studies under the new system, while Second Years are also following the specifications in Irish, modern languages and Art. In addition First Years are following the new system for Maths, Home Economics, History, Music and Geography.
